Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Sweater Drive

This month, help WTCI bring the spirit of America’s favorite neighbor to the Tennessee Valley during the Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Sweater Drive. Running February 6 through February 27, the drive will benefit the Community Kitchen of Greater Chattanooga, United Way of Bradley County and the Samaritan Center.

Young Writers & Illustrators Contest

For over 20 years Reading Rainbow has provided PBS viewers with TV good enough to read....encouraging children to discover books, reading and the love of learning. Now in it's fourteenth year, Reading Rainbow's Annual Young Writers & Illustrators Contest extends the mission by encouraging, challenging and rewarding pre-kindergarten through fifth graders to share their stories by creating their own picture books. Local Contest 1st place winners in kindergarten through third grade are sent on to the National Contest.

Antiques Roadshow Coming to Chattanooga

WTCI and Chattanooga, Tenn., has been chosen as a stop on the 2008 summer tour of ANTIQUES ROADSHOW, PBS’s most-watched primetime series. The Complete Jane Austen on WTCI

MASTERPIECE has good news for Jane Austen’s millions of fans: PBS’ beloved British drama series will broadcast adaptations of all of Austen’s six novels, plus a new drama based on her life. It’s the first time in television history that her books have been broadcast as a complete collection.

Beginning January 13 on WTCI, MASTERPIECE is inviting viewers to tune in on Sunday nights for “The Complete Jane Austen”: new presentations of Northanger Abbey, Persuasion, Mansfield Park, and Sense and Sensibility. The lineup will also include the acclaimed Emma starring Kate Beckinsale, and Pride and Prejudice, the Emmy award- winning miniseries that made Colin Firth a heartthrob.

The Jewish Americans on WTCI

THE JEWISH AMERICANS, a three-part documentary series written and directed by the Emmy Award-winning filmmaker David Grubin, examines the struggle of a tiny minority to make its way into the American mainstream. While the story of Jewish life in America is emblematic of the American immigrant story, it is also a unique story of ongoing discrimination and stereotyping coupled with some of the most remarkable accomplishments in American history, the arts, commerce, science and academia. The programs air Wednesdays, January 9-23, 2008, 9:00-11:00 p.m. ET on PBS.
